Sagittarius Marketing is proud announce their participation in the 2013 BIMA Digital Day or D Day for short. Sagittarius will be partnering with Ashford School, Norton Knatchbull for this exciting event and are hoping to enthuse, inspire and educate the young digital and creative minds of the future.
BIMA D Day is a nationwide event on 10th October 2013 linking digital professionals from across the UK's creative & professional sectors with young people in our schools and colleges. In 2012 over 1,800 school and college students participated in the BIMA D Day across the UK, discovering digital careers, meeting the professionals and hearing about agency life.
On the day, Sagittarius will be assisting the teachers and students with the digital challenges set, giving direction and getting the teams to think creatively. BIMA have created five options for the 1-day event and students can participate in a ‘BIMA Challenge’ across digital design, mobile, social media and coding disciplines. This allows teachers and students to choose which activity appeals the most. Students work in groups of 4 – 8 and on D-Day each student is expected to only do one category, multiple groups that wish to work on one project are also welcome.
Sagittarius is pleased to support awareness and the opportunities available to young people within the digital and creative industries. Paul Stephen, CEO at Sagittarius Marketing commented “Young people are incredibly digitally savvy in everyday life, inspiring tomorrows creative and digital minds is a great opportunity and I am proud to be part of an event like this and safeguard the future talent needed to maintain the UK’s creative excellence, The next Mark Zuckerberg could be just around the corner!”
Mrs Jenny Tomkins, Head of Design and Technology at Norton Knatchbull will be heading up the event at Norton Knatchbull school on the 10th October and was pleased to comment “Digital roles are shaping our future, there is a lack of understanding amongst our young people of what career avenues are available and D Day is a great way of identify potential future careers in design and digital industries"
