The time has come where business’ need to start seriously considering ensuring their website is responsive on mobile, if it isn’t already, as well as considering mobile as a huge part of advertising campaigns.
After doing some extensive research into mobile advertising and why it would benefit a client to create a mobile friendly site I found out some interesting facts and figures I thought I would share…
Twitter has 284 million monthly active users with an expectation that this will increase to 400 million by 2018. Twitter has a daily active user count of 100 million! And there is a total of 9.9 million active users in the UK, 80% of which, according to Twitter access Twitter via mobile.
Facebook’s mobile monthly active amount of users in 1.1189 billion (a lot!), with daily mobileusers being 745 million. Further to this there is a whopping 526 million monthly active Facebook users who use mobile-only, with 30% of Facebook users who ONLY login from a mobile device. There are also a huge range of other social networking sites who are mobile-only apps, including: Instagram which has 300 million monthly active users. Over half of all mobile searches lead to a purchase.
50% of millennials use their smartphones to research products or services whilst they’re actually shopping, with 41% having actually made purchases using their phone.
Nearly half of users saying they won’t return to a website if it doesn’t load properly on their mobile device.
50.3% of e-commerce website traffic comes through a mobile device.
Finally, 70% of mobile searches lead to an action on a website within one hour of when the search was conducted.
