The keynotes covered the latest trends and technologies in the DXP landscape, revisiting Sitecore’s core principles of disruption, acceleration, and innovation.

  • New Sitecore Leadership Brings a New Wave of Innovation to Sitecore: Former Chief Product Officer, Dave O’Flanagan, has been appointed as the Interim CEO of Sitecore. Sagittarius CEO, Ian MacArthur, said “[Dave] has always been the guy to watch, both through a detailed understanding of the Sitecore offer itself, but also for an appreciation and natural sympathy for the expert community around it. This is amazing news for customers. The person at the helm is now someone obsessed with your access to new capabilities and the relentless path to creating smarter solutions.”

  • Customer’s Need At Least 7 Touchpoints: Sitecore’s CMO, Kathie Johnson, emphasised the significant role of repeat messaging. According to Kathie, 67% of the buyer’s journey is completed before interacting with sales. The “rule of 7” means brands must evolve their content creatively and collect key data to track their customer’s journey to maximise their ROI. Research is showing that AI is fundamentally changing how businesses approach customer engagement and marketing strategies.
  • Sitecore XP 10.4, Meeting Evolving Needs: Although composable architectures are gaining traction, there remains a need for platforms like Sitecore XP. The unveiling of Sitecore XP 10.4 demonstrated the platform’s continued evolution, with over 200 customer-requested updates focused on personalisation, security, and integrations. “These are superb upgrades, with hundreds of new features and improvements to make IT and marketing stakeholders happy,” said Ian MacArthur, at Sagittarius. “I believe Sitecore’s wider product range will evolve alongside and everything they make will continue to connect better and simpler. This means that XP will get polished and further enhanced with some of the other technologies they offer.”
  • The Rise of Composable DXPs: Sitecore XM Cloud was a major focus, highlighting the shift towards composable architectures that allow businesses to assemble their DXP from best-of-breed components for greater flexibility and scalability. “It’s the fastest-selling Sitecore product of all time. Close to 200 mega brands have now purchased it and are launching in 2024,” commented Ian. “They’re buying it because it matches their strategy, not because it’s cool in isolation. These brands want to build their stacks from best-of-breed parts. They want a version-less future. They already know that the world moves fast, and AI must be baked-in in a way that leverages all emerging sources and models.”

  • Transforming Content and Personalisation: A significant theme was the potential of generative AI to revolutionise content creation and personalisation. This technology can help businesses understand audience reactions to AI-generated content, leading to more dynamic and engaging experiences. Ian commented “Dave O’Flanagan, touched on the AI project that his teams are working on, and it harnesses large language models to help your entire digital experience creation. [Expect] functionality that will be as helpful at writing content and prompting the original image and video generation as it will be at creating components, pages, and optimisation tests.”
  • Strategic Partnerships for Digital Transformation: Collaboration between Sitecore and Microsoft was highlighted, showcasing how partnerships can provide businesses with the tools and insights needed to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
